Maryland Day 2024
On April 27th, 2024, the Bahá'í Chair for World Peace was excited to attend another Maryland Day! Despite the rain and colder temperatures, thousands of people came to campus and we loved getting to speak with so many students, alums, and members of the community.
We prepared our table by putting out different flyers with important information about the Bahá'í Chair, blew up so many balloons, and had a candy bowl. We ran out of balloons very quickly and our stickers were a hit! When creating an interactive activity this year, we wanted to come up with ideas that were relevant to what was happening in the world today. We created the “Puzzle of World Peace” and asked people “How can we ‘piece’ together a better world?”
We received so many responses, enough to fill two full puzzles! People of all ages responded to our question and had extremely insightful answers. This shows how compassionate, creative, and kind our UMD community is. Many responses also serve as lessons and reminders of how we should treat each other and how we can use our voices for the greater good.
Maryland Day 2024 was a huge success and we can’t wait to be back next year. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, we hope you enjoyed learning more about the Bahá'í Chair!
